Delighting Marie Curie with Welsh Daffodils

Marie Curie and Blas y TirAn early growth of Welsh Daffodils doesn’t necessarily mean lots of flowers going unappreciated, as we proved in January 2016, by donating 1,474 bunches of the Welsh National Flower to terminal illness charity Marie Curie.

Marie Curie with Blas y Tir DaffodilsHelping launch the Marie Curie ‘Support the Daffodil’ campaign, and coinciding with the Blas y Tir ‘Delight with Daffodils’ campaign, which is currently raising awareness of St Dwynwen’s day, we donated the Welsh Daffodils to the charity to help raise funds to support around 3,500 people living with a terminal illness in Wales each year.

Unloading Blas y Tir DaffodilsEvery one of the 1,474 bunches of Welsh Daffodils we have donated to Marie Curie has been grown, picked and packed in Pembrokeshire, providing a truly Welsh Daffodil. Marie Curie will be selling bunches of daffodils to the public in the receptions of their hospices, and collecting donations throughout February and March during their ‘Support the Daffodil’ campaign, you can find out more information by visiting www.mariecurie.org.uk.

Blas y Tir DaffidilsAt Puffin we’re are always trying to do our bit to help charities, and it is great to be able to donate our Welsh Daffodils to such a worthy cause. Not only have we donated these Daffodils, but we are also pledging that for every free download of our St Dwynwen’s day card on the 25th of January from our website we will donate 10p to Marie Curie, hopefully raising even more money to help support people living with terminal illness in Wales.
