St. Davids Day Delivery

Huw Thomas at No.10 Downing StreetThis year we were thrilled when we were asked by No.10 Downing Street to supply Welsh Daffodils for the St.Davids day reception held by the Prime Minister on March 1st!

Our colourful Welsh Daffodils made their way all the way from Pembrokeshire to London on the morning of the event, in time for the lunch reception to celebrate the patron saint of Wales.

Puffin’s Managing Director Huw Thomas was also invited to the reception alongside Pembrokeshire representatives; local MP for Pembrokeshire Stephen Crabb, Olympian and St. Davids local Jasmine Joyce and Charity Fundraiser Barry John MBE, who runs the VC Galley in Haverfordwest.

The daffodils went down a storm with all who attended, with the Prime Minister Theresa May stating: “This reception is about celebrating everything that Wales has to offer to the world – and there is indeed much to celebrate.

Downing Street, St. Davids Day 2017

This proud country – and a special part of our United Kingdom – is home to some of the greatest talent and industry in the world. And we can see that right here today. Whether it is leading figures from the worlds of business, sport and politics – or one of the finest arrays of award-winning cheese, cakes, ham, wine, beer, whiskys, spirits and flowers that I have ever seen.”

It is a privilege for Puffin to be a part of events like this, and we relish the opportunity to put Pembrokeshire, and Wales as a whole, further ‘on the map’.
