Health and Safety Policy Statement

Puffin Produce Ltd is committed to meeting its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act. 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and associated legislation.

Our aim is to provide a working environment which is free from work-related accidents, incidents and ill health and to achieve excellence in occupational health and safety performance.

In support of this, all employees are required to fulfil their legal duty to take reasonable care of themselves and other people who may be affected by their actions and to fully support the Company in the management of Health, Safety and Welfare as a whole.

To achieve these objectives our Senior Leadership Team is committed to providing a framework to:

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is not compromised for other business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy working environment in all workplaces under our control.
  • Plan, organise, and continuously review working practices so as to safeguard everyone that could be affected by our work activities.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation pertaining to health and safety and other requirements.
  • Identify hazards and take steps to eliminate or control them so as to reduce health & safety risks in our work areas.
  • Involve and engage with our employees and other interested parties to identify risk and opportunities and take suitable measures to improve the health and safety of workers and other’s impacted by our operations
  • Provide sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision as may be necessary to ensure the health and safety at work of our employees.
  • Provide adequate resources, such as competent employees, contractors, supplier and suitably maintained equipment to implement this policy.
  • Ensure there is no harm or ill health to the employees in connection with the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances.
  • Include the management of health and safety as a specific responsibility of managers at all levels.
  • Set objectives and targets to continuously improve our occupational health and safety performance.
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety performance is monitored, measured and frequently reviewed by the Leadership Team to ensure it performs effectively within set targets that align with the Company’s wider objectives.
  • Ensure suitable communication channels are in place for employees to discuss health and safety issues.
  • Regularly review our Health and Safety Management System to ensure that it remains relevant and appropriate to the organisation.

Puffin Produce Ltd is committed to achieving this policy through the application of a Health and Safety management system that embodies the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

As Chief Executive Officer, I accept responsibility for this Health and Safety Policy and all Company Directors are responsible for supporting and promoting our commitments and ensuring the effective implementation in their respective areas of the Business.

Our policy statement is communicated to and extends to, all persons working for or on behalf of the Company and is readily available via our website, company intranet and to other interested parties on request.
